Ten sailors from five clubs vied with a lively, but precocious, wind. Race Officer, Mike Dyer, and his supporting team of Laser sailors made good use of the lake with two testing beats and a variety of reaches and running legs on each lap.

In the first race, Guy Lonsdale from South Cerney SC edged out in front of his club mate, Andy Miles, who could not then find a way past. Tim Wade from Spinnaker worked his way through to follow them with a third place finish.
In the second race, a similar pattern ensued with Guy leading throughout and Andy needing a lap to get through to second, with Geoff Silcock from Bowmoor SC following to come third. This secured first place for Guy, but there were still a number in the frame for the remaining podium places.

In the final race, Andy made the early breakthrough and held on to the gun, securing second overall. The other places remained in contention until the finish when Guy came through to second, followed by Fi Lucas from Bowmoor SC taking the third place which confirmed Tim third overall and first Grandmaster.
